Summer Carnival

Everyone is looking forward to our summer carnival this year… Tomorrow from 1pm till 4pm… Here is a sneak preview of our art work towards it.

Unfortunately I can’t make it tomorrow but hope you all have fun. Have a great weekend.

Miss Conner

Please bring in your instruments on Monday. I am hoping to do a rehearsal for our concert on Wednesday. (11.30am, in the KS2 hall.

Joy of music…

We were luck enough to be invited to 4LB’s music concert and the orchestra. We could see that they had all persevered with their learning. 4EC are looking forward to showing you how they have progressed in their learning next week. You are invited to 4EC and 4TRs concert at 11.30 in the KS2 Hall on Wednesday 23rd March.

Music

Every Wednesday 4EC get to learn either a violin or cello. They are trying hard to learn a repertoire of pieces  to perform in a concert. It is really important that the children bring their instrument in to school every week. If you know they are visiting another member of their family on Tuesday bring their instrument in the day before. Today we had ten children who did not have their instrument. I am aware that out of those ten their are some valid reasons why some did not have an instrument but for everyone else, it is crucial that they take care and pride in their instrument and enjoy the opportunity they have to learn an instrument. A lesson they miss means that they fall further behind with acquiring their music skills.

Please remember to bring your instruments in.

Final preparation for our string concert next week took place this week and for those that can make it next Wednesday at 11am you are in for a treat!

We have been finishing off our stories of Jetsam which were inspired by Flotsam. Today we wrote them up. Here are some of the great stories completed.

We have been learning to divide 2 digit numbers this week by first counting along the number line using our multiplication knowledge. Then we have been trying a written  method.

We have found this really trick in 4EC. Some of us have realised  that we don’t know our times tables that well.

This is how we have worked out our number problems this week.image

Can you explain this to your family? If so can you work out 76 divided by 4? Write down how you worked it out and bring it in on Monday for a house point!

We had a spelling test on this weeks words.

We have been practicing them daily and it has helped most of the children learn them. Some need a bit more practice so here they are

We also had a quickfire times table round. How quickly can you answer these questions? We tried to do them in 45 seconds

We have also turned into electricians this week and can now complete a circuit and know why we have insulators and conductors.

Can you complete this mission?

Finally, some of us went to the library bus this afternoon and some went to explore the nature garden to find objects that show us that is is winter… Here are some of our finds
