One door closes and another one opens

The first weekend of the summer break is upon us and I sit with cards and gifts in front of me. Thank you!

I hope you all have a fabulous summer and I will see you all, except Luca :(, in September. I look forward to seeing you continue on your exciting journey at Rosendale.

Thank you too, to all the parents who have supported us in many ways through joining us on trips, working with children during independent learning, reading with your children, encouraging them and celebrating with them.

Best wishes,

Miss Conner

Food bank

A huge thank you to everyone who donated items to the Food Bank.  We dropped them off yesterday and the volunteers couldn’t believe how generous everyone had been.  We had to take two very full car journeys and donated in total 1369 items which will be an incredible help.  Results of the winning class to be announced by Miss Atkins next week!

A special thank you to Isabella in 6AF whose brilliant idea this was.

Food bank

Thank you everyone for all your donations to the Food Bank Competition, the number of items collected has been fantastic and we have a number of classes neck and neck for the win!  At the moment the current leaders in KS2 are 6AF but they are cloesly followed by 5CM.
In KS1 the current winners are 2GE but RMH are only one item behind them!  It’s going to be really close to see who the winners are.
Please keep the donations coming; summer can be a particularly difficult time for those struggling to keep food on the table,
Thank you!

Celebrating the end of term

Tomorrow we will be celebrating the end of term by going to the playing fields to have  a games day. We will be leaving at around 11am and returning to school at the end of the day. Just like a school trip, children will need a packed lunch, unless they normally get a free school dinner, in which case they will be provided with a lunch. We will spend the day playing games so all children need to be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear. Hopefully it will stay dry but we may have a down pour of rain so please make sure that they bring a waterproof.

Food Bank Competition

Rosendale is very proud to be holding a Food Bank Drive and Competition.  All of next week the children are being encouraged to bring in any old tins or packets that you have lurking in the backs of cupboards (within sell by date!) or any spare toiletries that you are willing to donate.  Please no fresh food as it will be kept in school all week.  The class that collects the most items will be rewarded with extra play.

All items collected will be donated to the Norwood and Brixton Foodbank.  They have given us a list of items that they need:

Small instant coffee, sugar, tinned sweetcorn, tinned meat, tinned fruit, instant custard, bags of flour, small tins potatoes, small tins mixed veg, small bottles oil, longlife sponge puds, tinned custard, UHT milk and juice.

Soap, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste, washing powder, toilet rolls.

Thank you for your support.

Last minute trip and concert

Year 6 can no longer go on a trip to the CLC on Thursday. We have the opportunity to go instead. Some have received a letter. Some will get it on Wednesday. If you are able to pop in and sign it on Wednesday that would be great but it will be fine to bring in on Thursday morning.

A reminder that we have a strings concert to celebrate the learning that 4EC have done. All children need to make sure they bring their instrument. The concert will be at 11.30 in the KS2 hall.
